It's migration time and turkey vultures are heading north. Following
are the reports from Washington and British Columbia for March, 2006
(and a couple late ones from February):

February
24 -- 2 over Independence Road (near the Brady area)
25 -- 1 over Longview
26 -- 1 over I-5 near Vancouver

March
03 -- 7 beating their way north over Poulsbo; 1 over Port Orchard
05 -- 1 over Sequim
07 -- 1 in Nanaimo, B.C.; 1 at Eatonville (along with 5 ravens and a
juvenile bald eagle)
11 -- 1 near Silverdale
12 -- 1 adult feeding on a sharp-tailed grouse carcass ca. five miles
east of Mansfield; 2 southest of Belfair
13 -- 1 flew up from the road near Aberdeen
15 -- 2 between Kingston and Poulsbo; 1 above Nanoose Bay
16 -- 1 at Ridgefield NWR; 1 cruising south from Bowers Bluff
17 -- 2 over Coupeville
18 -- 5 over the Island Highway in Parksville; 1 near Parksville,
B.C.; 1 over the Baker Hill area
19 -- 1 at the Raymond Airport; 1 north of Spokane near Colbert
20 -- 1 west of Coupeville
21 -- 1 north of Oak Harbor; 1 above Mostar Road/Hwy 19, B.C
23 -- 2 in Garfield County; 1 near the Blakely Harbor area
24 -- 2 along Wenzel Slough Road; 1 along the eastern portion of the
Brady Loop Road; 7 over the I-90 weight station at Salmon-la-Sac; 1
over Olympia's Natural Resources Building; 1 over the I-5 Federal Way
weigh station; 19 over the center of Bainbridge Island (Suyematsu
Farm); 1 at Marymoor Park
25 -- 1 over Surrey, B.C.; 1 over Marymoor Park; 2 east of Copalis
Beach; 6 over the west side of Eagle Harbor
26 -- 3 near Eatonville; 1 north of Kelso; 1 near Calispell Lake; 2
over Cherry Valley FWA; 1 south of Grayland
27 -- 1 east of Dixie
28 -- 1 circling over Tyler. Spokane County
29 -- "during the past week . . . a few sightings" in Spokane County;
1 over Union Gap, south of Yakima
31 -- 1 at Marymoor Park; 1 between Hoquiam and Ocean Shores; 1
perched in a tree southwest of Mount Spokane
