Just a few reports from the past two days:

Yesterday afternoon, I was out at a friend's house just outside the town of Rainer in southern Thurston county. While outside, I heard my first singing Black-throated Gray Warbler of the year.

This morning, I took a stroll around Vance Creek county park here in Elma. I heard and then saw two Green Herons on the fringe of the large pond closest to the airport. Also, there were quite a few Yellow-rumped Warblers around. One Osprey flew over while I was walking, but the nest snag at the park is still unoccupied.

Lastly, a drive down Wenzel Slough Rd. produced 2 lingering Trumpeter Swans in a grassy wetland north of the road. There could be more swans in this spot since the tall grass obstructs a lot of the view. Seems pretty late for the swans to still be around.
