Hi Tweeters -
I spent an enjoyable morning at Discovery Park in Seattle today. On
and above the water, over 100 BONAPARTES GULLS were flying around -
they've been present on&off through the winter, but today was the
first time I noticed that many of them were decked out in their
black-headed alternate plumage. Also, I saw my first-of-the-year
CASPIAN TERN. 2 RHINO AUKLETS were out by the point.
In the woods, I saw 2 HERMIT THRUSH - well, one of them was a
definite Hermit, the other flew away too quickly to be absolutely
sure....

Otherwise, the Savannah Sparrows were singing away, several Rufous
Hummers were zooming here & there, and basically it felt an awful lot
like spring.
