Tweets,
after bumping into the Sullivans down near the Black
Phoebe, I checked the main WeyCo pond for the Tufted
Duck, and it was not present at 1:30, but there were a
few Ring-neck ducks. After work, I checked North Lake
(~4:30) also to no avail.
But I think I solved the mystery of why the Tufted has
been coming into the main pond at 4:30 - 5:00. The
last 2 days on North Lake, I have observed a pair of
ladies cruising around North Lake in a Paddle boat,
both times at about 4:30. And all the ducks were
leaving the lake as they went around.
So I figure the Tufted Duck was flying off North lake
when the ladies take their daily cruise ;)

I then checked the main pond again, and the Tufted
Duck was present at 5:00. There was a much larger
group of RN Ducks as well, implying that another group
had flown in from North Lake.
The Redhead previously seen with this group has NOT
been seen in several days now.
Good Birding!
Guy
