Brevity can be carried to an extreme I've just realized. I should have expounded, so I will. I believe that June 16, 1989, represents the date that American White Pelicans returned to the lower Columbia basin and reestablished themselves locally as resident breeders.

In the early morning of June 16, 1989, 68 of them appeared on the penninsula in Two Rivers County Park, Benton County.
We had twelve at Vancouver Lake, Clark County on October 17, 1987.
