Last week at an Office Depot parking lot in Redmond, there was a pair of
Killdeer -- one drinking from puddles on the asphalt, and the other standing
atop a pile of gravel about two feet across and six inches high, on the
asphalt. A couple of days later I went back and apparently the Killdeers had
decided there must be better digs elsewhere. But it goes to prove Mary's
point, that one can find them almost anywhere in urban areas.
