I relocated the female Western Bluebird yesterday at the Au Sable property
but didn't find the male. It was an outstanding afternoon for raptors:
Red-tailed Hawk, Northern Harrier, American Kestrel, Bald Eagle, Cooper's
Hawk being chased by 2 crows, Merlin, and Turkey Vulture ( okay that's not
really a raptor but I wanted to pad the count).
Also saw and heard the 1st House Wren of the year, 2 weeks earlier than
usual. Savannah Sparrows were singing and I heard but didn't see a Western
Meadowlark.
I was hoping for Anise Swallowtails but no butterflies were found. The
Spring Gold, a lomatium species is blooming. Lovely day!
