This is my first time to post although I have read with interest what birds
other people are seeing in our area. I also have wondered where are the
Siskens this winter? Some winters we are mobbed with dozens of them out here
in the Snoqualmie Valley and have not seen one!

I wonder will they come along with the Goldfinches? We have had a few of
those starting a couple weeks ago although today in the rain it is quiet
except for the redwing blackbirds and chickadees, a few towhees and a male
flicker drumming on the neighbors chimney. Oh and the Stellar's Jays were
here today - a bright spot in the gloom. We have still a few double breasted
Cormorants that roost in the big trees along the river at night, very
entertaining to watch them get just the right angle for landing on a little
branch and then bob up and down.
