Well the sounds of the Mockingbird changed from hole to hole, so I'm sure it was real. Most of the others were heard only once or twice, and someone else wrote back and said they heard a Red-bellied Woodpecker on hole 4. I also added a Mourning Dove after the initial post. I've heard about what you posted, but I still feel it was kind of fun to do some auditory birding over the radio. If I hadn't lived on the east coast for a year, not sure how many of those I would have recognized. Cheers!

Ah, but you must be careful. A few years back when I lived in Virginia, some summer southern golf tournament was playing White-throated Sparrow songs over and over, long after they had departed for northern breeding spots. Turned out it was indeed a recording, and they were taken to task. So I guess It is possible that now it is the real thing!

Sitting here at the UW doing some reading, glancing out my window at the Boat Street Curriculum as the riders all ride by, and listening to the Masters Golf Tournament. Realized I kept hearing a Northern Mockingbird singing, and started paying closer attention to the golf. So far, I have added Eastern Blue Jay, Northern Cardinal and Ovenbird. Pretty nice group of birds to get while sitting on my butt in Seattle!
