The stories about piped in birdsong at the Masters made me smile. My wife
and I once did a little shopping at Ikea. No sooner had I stepped out of the
car in the parking garage than I heard a peregrine falcon calling from the
dark recesses of the ceiling. I really got excited and must have spent
fifteen minutes trying to locate it while other shoppers regarded me with
some suspicion. It wasn't until I heard a red-tailed hawk calling from the
same dark cubicle that I realized that there was nothing but a speaker up
there designed to scare away house sparrows, pigeons and starlings.
