Hi Tweets,
Ann Marie Wood and I headed south to Auburn around noon today. We
started looking for the Black Phoebe on Mill Creek along the trail at
the end of M St. N.W. No luck there so we headed to the bridge on
29th St. that crosses the creek. The bird flew under the bridge,
curved along with the creek from north to west and then spent a lot
of time perched in the two tall trees that stand together. We got
good views from the bridge and Ann Marie took a lot of photos. We
first saw the bird at 1:15 p.m. This bird's black plumage seemed
washed out compared to phoebes I have seen in Arizona. I wondered
whether that is worn plumage as I have only seen them on September
and December trips to Arizona.
