Regarding the lack of Pine Siskins; in Duvall, near the Snoqualmie River, we
have not had any Siskins as yet, which is very unusual. One note - while
walking down the river trail, I noticed a dead bird, picked it up and
recognized that is was a Pine Siskin. Other than that, they are noticeable
by their absence.

I have read that the bird count placed them further east and some in Canada,
however in my dozen years of feeding birds in Duvall, this is the 1st winter
without Siskins.
