Sun April 9, 9:23am. Brian Bell, 425 485 8058. This morning starting at about 8:50 and continuing til now, the YELLOW BILLED LOON has been visible just off of Suquamish on the Kitsap peninsula. Also present are COMMON LOONS, PACIFIC LOONS and RED THROATED LOONS, as well as many other water birds. Good place to see it is just as you come into town, drop right down towards the dock area. Great overloook from here.

Mon March 27, 11:45am Douglas Marshal. On Sun March 26 at 3p I observed a single male MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD in Discovery Park. It was down at West Point in the vicinity of the Parks Department parking lot. It was flying between the shrubs next to the treatment plant and down to the logs on the beach. It appeared to be feeding. Good luck and good birding

Friday, March 24, 7:40 am. Tom Aversa. Reporting on a trip up north from yesterday. The most interesting bird was an adult BEWICK'S SWAN. This bird was just north of La Conner, on Whitney-La Conner Road, just north of McLane. Still a pretty good group of TUNDRA SWANS out there on the west side of the road. Also there are at least four SNOWY OWLS at the spur dike at the Skagit Game Range, all the way down the end of the road.

Tue March 21, 7:37am Martha Taylor 206 523 4677. On Mar 18 we were in the Othello area and we saw SANDHILL CRANES at Road B Southwest off of Crab Tree Road looking east, from about 4:15, they started coming in in groups. Further down the road, about 2.5 miles east of Road B Southwest, we also saw another large group of cranes, with a Canyon Wren seen in the background. Good luck and good birding

Sun March 19, 9:16am. Steven Mlodinow. Just had an ICELAND GULL, first year bird, near the "poop" piles near Wahlua. Two GLAUCOUS GULLS were also present there. This is bird kind of a biscuit-colored, evenly colored bird without any dark in the primaries, smaller than a herring gull. All dark bill. Other birds of note were EURASIAN WIDGEON at Walla Walla River delta and a second year MEW GULL there. Good luck and good birding

Fri March 17 4:51 pm Douglas Marshall. At 10:30 on Mar 17 there was a single WESTERN SCRUB JAY on Queen Anne Hill, at the intersection of 2d Ave West and West Blaine, on the south side of Big Hal Park, McClure Middle school or 1 block north of Trader Joe's. Good luck and good birding

Fri March 17 7:08am Tom Aversa. Reporting that the TUFTED DUCK is still down south of Elma in the little oxbow just down on Wakefield Road on the west side. Also a pair of WESTERN BLUEBIRDS further south down in Lewis County along Bunker Creek. Thanks.

Sun March 12, 4:05pm Carl Haney. I'm at the Boeing Ponds. Just to report that the SAY'S PHOEBE is still here near the northeast end of the ponds, across the street from the ponds and actually on private property at the Boeing Plant near the corner where there's a bunch of wooden crates. The bird is flycatching there. There's also a GREEN HERON at the ponds.

Sat March 11, 5:36pm Tim O'brien Of Elma, Wa, at Vance Creek Park in Elma. Looking at one, possibly male, TUFTED DUCK, amidst a flock of LESSER and GREATER SCAUP. The bird has been here since about 4:30 today. Cell is 360 280 1628.

Sat March 4, 11:19am Rachel Lawson, 206 282 5593 This morning I saw the BLUE JAY that has been frequenting the Magnolia neighborhood in Seattle near Discovery Park. This bird has been seen around the Visitor's Center Nnear Discovery Park and along the eastern perimeter of the park, 36 th Ave West It moves between there and a yard on an alley with a feeder off W. Thurman St, between 35 th and 34 th. It associates with STELLER'S JAYS and today it was active and vocal, but sometimes it is hard to find.

Fri March 3, 7:54am Tom Aversa reporting on a trip up north yesterday. Amazing numbers of EURASIAN WIDGEON on the Samish Flats, probably 4000 WIDGEON total with over 200 EURASIANS, all males, there was probably more females. There was still 6 SNOWY OWLS visible at the Skagit Game Range, all the way out at the end of the spur dike, even in the wind yesterday. Also a BARN SWALLOW there remaining,, and a juvenile BLUE GOOSE on Fir Island, the north end of the island.
