The April edition of Birdwise is now running on TCTV Channel 22/29. Birdwise is a 30-minute locally-produced video-magazine on birds and birdwatching.

April's program is sponsored by the Dunlin and focuses on shorebirds. Show host and Olympia birder Tom Schooley takes us on a trip to nearby Oyster Bay, an important bird area known for good sized flocks of wintering shorebirds.

He also visits the Slater Museum of Natural History at the University of Puget Sound for close up looks of shorebirds in their winter and spring plumages. Ruth Pagel of Birds Unlimited talks about summer time backyard bird feeding.

The show also has its regular features of bird identification, news, calendar items, and the feather report, a forecast of bird viewing, by our Featherman, Phil Kelley.

Please tune into Birdwise, shown twice a week, Sundays at 1 p.m. and Thursdays at 8:30 p.m on Comcast Cable Channel 22/29.

This non-commercial program is produced by Tom Schooley and Tim Sweeney with additional volunteer support from Black Hills Audubon Society.

Thanks and Good Birding,
