Want to make some money birding? Needed: one person to conduct full-time point count surveys May 1 ? June 10. Duties include point count surveys and data entry. Location: southwest Washington. Room, board, and hourly salary (depending on experience) provided. Requirements: ability to identify forest songbirds by sight and sound; must have previous experience conducting point count surveys; in good physical condition; have a strong independent work ethic and appreciation for scientific research; be able to keep organized and detailed records and to conduct reliable work in the field under harsh conditions; and have good communication skills. This study requires living in a remote area, hiking through extremely rough terrain in often inclement weather, starting work before sunrise, and working for 6 ? 8 hours per day.
