Tuesday, April 11th, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited, with
stores in Vancouver and North Vancouver. This message was updated

MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRDS are being reported throughout the Vancouver
area in the past week, with 2 males and 1 female on Sea Island near the
UPS Warehouse; 2 females at the Port Coquitlam side of Colony Farm;
2 males at the Maplewood Conservation Area, North Vancouver;
1 male in the 6200 block of E 1st St, North Vancouver; 1 male and
1 female at Boundary Bay Park in Delta between the concession
stand and the viewing tower; and 1 male at the Japanese Garden at the
PNE grounds in Vancouver.


Sightings for Tuesday, April 11th:

After a long absence, the male KING EIDER was relocated on the edge
of one of three rafts of SURF SCOTERS in the bay between the South
and the North Jetties at Iona Island, Richmond.

A pair of alternate plumaged LAPLAND LONGSPURS were seen on a fence
inside the Vancouver International Airport on Sea Island, Richmond.
The male was heard singing!

9 TURKEY VULTURES were part of a hawk migration over Burnaby
Mountain Park in Burnaby. 2 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRES and 2 EVENING
GROSBEAKS were also at this location



Sighting for Monday, April 10th:

An alternate plumaged LAPLAND LONGSPUR continues on the Iona Island
South Jetty in Richmond


Sightings for Sunday, April 9th:

4 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were seen at Serpentine Fen in
Surrey.


Sightings for Saturday, April 8th:

An alternate plumaged LAPLAND LONGSPUR continues on the Iona Island
South Jetty in Richmond, as well as 2 CASPIAN TERNS

There were several reports of 1 or 2 YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS on the
North Outer Pond at Iona Island

One CLIFF SWALLOW was seen over Iona Island.


Sightings for Friday, April 7th:

A pair of GREEN HERONS were observed at the pond at Ambleside Park,
West Vancouver, as well as a male TUFTED DUCK X SCAUP hybrid.

2 CINNAMON TEAL were on the Outer Pond and 1 alternate plumage
LAPLAND LONGSPUR was on the Iona Island South Jetty in Richmond.


No sightings for Thursday, April 6th


Sightings for Wednesday, April 5th:

A SAY'S PHOEBE was on the airport fence on Sea Island, Richmond,
and it was later observed on Iona Island. Also on the airport fence was
a female MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD. A NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED
SWALLOW was observed at Iona Island
