Hi Tweets,
Dennis Duffy kindly alerted me to a Common Teal at Edmonds Marsh.
The evening plan was gardening. So much for that. Jumped into play
clothes, grabbed the scope, and headed down the hill. The water is
fairly high in the marsh right now, nice for dabbling ducks. I
arrived about 6 p.m. and it took 45 minutes of searching before I
finally saw him in a small pond at the far south side of the marsh,
as seen from the observation deck at the beginning of the boardwalk.
It skulked in and out of sight, but views were good enough to peg it
as a pure Common with no hybrid characteristics.
