As I drove out Hwy 26 east I had a short-eared owl about 1 mile west of Hwy 26 and Kulm Rd. This is a good place to find them hunting the CRP at dusk and dawn.

Bassett Park in Washtucna was quiet. The Eurasian collared-dove was all over the pace. I had ONE warbler a yellow-rumped, 6 ruby-crowned kinglets, 9 white-crowned sparrows and 2 Lincoln's sparrows (these guys are moving through I have had one in my yard for two days spotted towhee as well), 3 spotted towhees. There looks to be a pair of red-tails hanging out at the north end of the pasture (the usual place) and one is a dark Harlen's type.

Swainson's hawks are all over the area I had one about a mile west of Washtucna, two (a pair) about two miles east of Hatton Rest Area, one at the Rest Area and another by the Sandhills area along Hwy 26.

Hatton Rest Area I had 2 golden-crowned kinglets, 4 dark-eyed juncos that was the highlight, other than the Swainson's hawk.
