Regarding Pine Siskins, they have been mostly absent from areas of Yakima
this winter, however some did start showing up after the first of the year.
Normally we have about 15 at our thistle feeders along with goldfinches. The
max this winter was 8 starting in early january and we still have 5. Friends
of ours west of Selah have had 3-5 since early January and I've seen a few
in trees around the Hospital in Yakima. A pretty poor showing of them, but
still a few around in Yakima.
