On March 24, Dana Ward reported the return of CLIFF SWALLOWS to the I-182
bridge from Richland to Pasco.

On March 24, Craig Swanson noted the continued presence of EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVE in Bassett Park in Washtucna. Sightings of this species are
increasing and any local ones should be reported to the alert.

Margaret Greger had CEDAR WAXWINGS in her Richland yard on March 30. Most
waxwings leave the area but some do remain to breed.

Bob Woodley reported a SAY'S PHOEBE along Horn Rapids Road on April 1 and he
and Pat Woodley noted the return of OSPREY to the pole at Acme Concrete near
Chamna Nature Preserve in Richland on April 2.

Mary Lilga found a variety of birds in her North Richland neighborhood
including the still present BLUE JAY on April 2, a WESTERN SCREECH-OWL on
April 3, and a BROWN CREEPER on April 7. Please report any sightings of the
Blue Jay to the Alert.

Ron and Carole Louderback reported a SWAINSON'S HAWK in Burbank and one in
Kennewick on April 9. They also had 150 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and 2
SNOW GEESE at McNary NWR on that day. They also noted the continued return
of BURROWING OWLS to the area.

Jack Dawson found a GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET in his Benton City yard on April
9.

Leucistic AMERICAN CROWS are becoming more common in our area. The ones in
North Richland are well noted. Rod Coler reported the presence of one in
Kennewick also.

On April 14, Bob Woodley noted a CLARK'S GREBE at the Yakima Delta as well
as most swallow species.

Despite lousy weather, Nancy LaFramboise and Murrel Dawson found a
GRASSHOPPER SPARROW on the South Slope of Rattlesnake north of Prosser along
Rothrock Road on April 13. On April 15, Bill and Nancy LaFramboise returned
to the South Slope and found CINNAMON TEAL and BLACK-NECKED STILTS along
Bunn Road, singing BREWER'S, SAGE, and VESPER SPARROWS, and a singing SAGE
THRASHER along Case, Rotha and Rothrock Roads.

To report your own sightings, please give your name, phone number, date, and
sightings after the tone. Thank you.
