This morning I enjoyed a little birding in the north end of the Kitsap
Peninsula. Point no Point had a few migrants passing overhead including
Yellow-rumped Warblers, American Pipits and Brown-headed Cowbirds. Savannah
Sparrows were scattered about. I really enjoy witnessing the bird movement
that takes place here during Spring migration. The place can seem empty at
times, but a look up can reveal an assortment of migrating birds.

My highlight bird of the morning was a female Mountain Bluebird a couple
hundred yards south of the Hansville store. It was along the beach south of
three old cottages.

Other migrants for the day included an American Kestrel at Foulweather Bluff
and a Western Meadowlark back on a farm on Bainbridge Island. Birds are
definitely on the move.

The Bonaparte's Gulls have decreased in numbers every day since Sunday here
on Bainbridge Island. I would think we will start seeing them and perhaps
the Little Gull further north in other parts of Puget Sound. I did have
quite a few off of Eglon (4 miles south of {Point no Point) a little over a
week ago. A Clark's Grebe has been present off of the south end of
Bainbridge Island for the last few months. The Southworth Ferry Dock is not
a great distance away so it maybe the same one that Ruth and Patrick had
today.
