OK, so I got to thinking that Caspian Terns actually just scrape out a nest
site rather than build a nest, don't they. I Know it was a Caspian Tern that
I saw, but why would it've been carrying what looked like
vegetation/nest-building material? Any ideas out there in Tweeterville??

Plus, it'd be a Big Deal to have these birds nest here. There's been
speculation re that, but I have no idea whom to contact at the shipyard re has
anyone seen evidence of a nesting colony and if so, can someone check it out
to confirm.

Yesterday at the Bremerton ferry terminal I heard and saw my first Caspian
Tern of the year. It was carrying nesting material towards the Navy Yard!
