Steve Johnson of Redondo Beach just called me and while we were talking
about local bird sightings including a large flock of Bonaparte's Gulls
yesterday, he was looking out of his window. He could see another huge
flock of about 1000 gulls flying north as we spoke. Redondo Beach is along
Puget Sound north of Tacoma at Federal Way. Steve was seeing the gulls at
about 11:30am on Sat, Apr 22. We also are seeing fairly large (up to 100
birds) flocks of Black Brant along the shores on the beaches near Fed Way.
