11:24 start - water level low with all mudflats visible (low tide 10:04
(1.5ft); high tide 16:14 (9.9ft))
12:11 end

Tweeters,
Cloud-spotted blue sky, with a cool south breeze making it much cooler
today than yesterday at Turning Basin #3. Either the Mew Gulls are in
some other area or have headed north, because nary one was visible
today. The Boeing parking lot Ospreys are still trying to build a nest
on the light standard, but with little success: three sticks one brought
all dropped to the ground, as well as a large piece of cloth. If they
don't get cracking, this nesting season won't be a success. The Hamm
Creek pair has been copulating, but no sitting as yet.

Bird of the Day: The 82 Double-crested Cormorants that flew by in the
space of a few minutes, heading upstream someplace.

Birds seen during this scan:

Canada Goose (21; incl 9 goslings in two families)
Mallard (8; incl 4 ducklings that may be what's left of the 13)
Bufflehead (6)
Double-crested Cormorant (82)
Great Blue Heron (2)
Osprey (4)
Glaucous-winged Gull (8)
Rock Pigeon (15)

site in the bank underneath a pier)

Bushtit (2)
Bewick's Wren (2)
European Starling (3)

May all your birds be identified,
