Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 27. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On April 26 two SEDGE WRENS were reported from Baker Beach north of
Florence. They could not be relocated. On April 23 a LITTLE GULL flew past
Lincoln City. A male BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was seen April 21 at Pittock
Mansion in northwest Portland. Single BLUE-JAYS continue to be seen in
Brookings and at Talent. A male TUFTED DUCK is now being seen at Fern Ridge
Reservoir. On April; 25 a MANX-TYPE SHEARWATER was off Lincoln City.

A very heavy WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW movement passed through the state during
the week as the spring migration reaches its peak. BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS,
orioles and kingbirds are now being seen. SOLITARY SANDPIPERS and CALLIOPE
HUMMINGBIRDS were reported during the week.

On April 21 three PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVERS were at Yaquina Bay. A RED KNOT was
at Tillamook Bay April 23. Four pairs of BLACK-NECKED STILTS are now at the
Farmer Road Marsh near Baskett Slough NWR. On April 20 four WHITE PELICANS
were at Ankeny NWR. At least nine are now at Fern Ridge Reservoir. A
LONG-BILLED CURLEW was near Corvallis April 22. On April 24 a WHITE-FACED
IBIS was at Fern Ridge Reservoir. A LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was there April 22.

On April 23 a BAND-TAILED PIGEON was at the Eagle Crest Resort west of
Redmond.
