Hello, Tweeters,

Coming up on BirdNote, the week of May 1, 2006: Monday, the
winnowing sound of the Wilson's Snipe; Tuesday, swallows' nests;
Wednesday, "Winds of Spring," about the disruption of Pacific
Ocean winds in 2005 and the resulting seabird die-off; Thursday,
International Migratory Bird Day, May 13, 2006 -- what's
happening in your neighborhood? (with a great photo of the boreal
forest); and Friday, the strange call of the Willow Ptarmigan.

BirdNote is a radio series, two minutes per episode, which you
can hear live on KPLU* or KOHO**, or listen to --or read-- on the
web site, http://www.BirdNote.org. (Also available as a podcast.)
Each is accompanied by a photograph on our web site. All episodes
are in the archives, both in written transcript and MP3 format.
(Depending on your connection, you may listen on-line or download
the MP3.)

Check out next week's schedule and photographs at
http://tinyurl.com/jrrjm . Then listen on-line at any time. Each
day's feature goes into the archives.

Do you have an idea for BirdNote? A comment? A story about your
own interaction with a bird? E-mail us at info at birdnote.org. Thanks!
