Greetings All,

John English and I just returned from a week + in sunny South Florida and the Keys. John gathered in 28 new birds for his ABA &/or life list and I picked up 14 for mine. The treat of the trip was a Red Footed Booby at Dry Tortugas, and a couple of nice looks at Antillean Nighthawks. We were lucky with the Black Whiskered Vireo and Gray Kingbird, but not so lucky with the (mythical) Mangrove Cuckoo. But not for lack of trying! The warblers were great, so we can't complain. In total we had 115 species.

The weather, in 3 words, HOT AND MUGGY. It never got below 75 even at night and most days were in the 90s with high humidity. It caused me to remember fondly my December trip to the same area.

Keep birding, -Rolan
