Hi Tweets,
Kelly McAllister emailed me last night that one of the fledglings had died, found Monday morning; possibly from blunt force trauma. The homeowners apparently found it under the nest, not too far from the driveway, and near the front steps of the home.
The bird was skinny, although Kelly stated that is not unusual. I have always worried that one bird wasn't as strong as the other.
This is very sad for all of us here in the neighborhood. I have always been worried about the second eagle, because it wasn't nearly as active as the other bird.
I am wondering if we couldn't put a sign up that says, GO SLOWLY, EAGLES NESTING
People do drive too fast through that area, which is why there are always cops nearby.
