My records of nesting Western Screech-owls (WESO) have the young fledged in
mid-June, and under parental supervision until mid-August. The young tend
to do a lot of food begging calls after dusk, which isn't good for their
survival in a neighborhood with Barred Owls.

I haven't heard the two or more western screech owls who lived in a
greenbelt along SW Jacobson Road in West Seattle for at least two months.
What are their nesting habits? Is it possible they might have moved to a
different location to raise their young? The greenbelt appears to be some of
the best available habitat for them year-around so I am concerned that
something might have happened to them.
