Saturday August 05, 2006:
A COOPER'S HAWK was seen over the Ballenas School in Parksville.
A Juvenile ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD is coming to feeders in the 2000 block of
Honeysuckle Drive in Nanaimo.
Friday August 04:
A HYBRID SNOW GOOSE/CANADA GOOSE was seen at Jack's Point Park in south
Nanaimo.
Some possible PINE SISKINS were seen along Schooners Cove in Nanoose Bay.
Thursday August 03:
One ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was seen along Forest Cresent in Nanaimo
Wednesday August 02:
One MERLIN, over ten BEWICK'S WRENS, small flocks of LEAST and WESTERN
SANDPIPERS, one PIGEON GUILLEMOT, four BONAPART'S GULLS and over 250
NORTHWESTERN CROWS were seen at the Englishman River Estuary in Parksville.
Twenty WESTERN SANDPIPERS, six SEMI-PALMATED SANDPIPERS and eight LEAST
SANDPIPERS were spotted feeding on the mud-flats at the Holden Creek side of
the Nanaimo River Estuary in south Nanaimo.
AMERICAN GOLDFINCH, BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK and HOUSE FINCH are visiting
feeders in the 200 block of Dawkins Lane in Nanaimo.
Eight pair of WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS and AMERICAN GOLDFINCH are visiting
feeders in the 300 block of Park Ridge Place in Qualicum Beach.
A BULLOCK'S ORIOLE was seen at a suet feeder in the 6900 block og Lancewood
Avenue in Lantzville.
Sunday July 30:
The Sunday bird walk went to Legacy Marsh in Upper Lantzville, twelve
birders found the following thirty-three species:

Saturday July 29:
A PURPLE FINCH was seen in the 2100 block of Lancashire Avenue in Nanaimo.
Thursday July 27:
A large flock of BUSHTITS and nine CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES were seen
along Boundry Crescent in Nanaimo.
A large flock of COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were spotted over Kaye Road in the Rivers
Edge area behind the Government Weigh Scale in Parksville.
Wednesday July 26:
A STELLER'S JAY was seen in a yard near Lost Lake in north Nanaimo.
Eight GREAT BLUE HERONS were spotted flying over the sea near the 1100 block
of Pintail Drive in Qualicum Beach.
Tuesday July 25:
A BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK was seen in the 1700 block of El Verano Drive on
Gabriola Island.
Monday July 24:
Four MERLINS, two CALIFORNIA QUAIL, and several CEDAR WAXWINGS were seen
along Ermineskin Avenue in Parksville.
