Yesterday I went on a butterfly expedition up to the upper Iron goat
trailhead at Wellington, just below Stevens Pass. Hundreds of butterflies
swirling about made a delightful outing which was enhanced when two Turkey
vultures came tilted over the trail, almost low enough overhead to tempt one
to try to snag one with a net. A bit later they returned going down the
trail at about the same elevation. They seemed to be very much following the
trail. I know I was sort of hot and tired, but I hoped I did not look THAT
bad...
