Yesterday we put seven hours into a Booby search between Anacortes and Samish Island. We didn't find the bird, but there is so ground (water) to cover that it not an easy task. We even took the ferry to Guemes Island, which was pleasant, but not an effective approach.

If the Booby wants to hang with gulls, the most gulls were found NE of the Swinomish Casino area. Sibley says Blue-footed like to perch on rocks. I believe you would be better off bringing a boat than a scope.
