Hello All,
This morning while driving to the job on the Pomeroy Ranger District we came
upon 9 Gray Partridge on Linville Ridge Rd. and this afternoon while
returning home I counted 15 Eastern Kingbirds perched on a fence line way
out in the vast monoculture harvested wheat desert that is Garfield Co.
again along Linville Ridge Road. We also located 7 Vesper Sparrows and two
Western Kingbirds. Then while checking a stock pond at 4700' we located 150+
salamander larvae of which there was a species split of 60% Tiger
Salamanders and 40% Long-toed Salamanders. We caught and photographed a 5+
inch neotinic adult Tiger. Also discovered a Western Rattlesnake at 4100'
along Scroggins Ridge Rd. in an area that the species has never been
documented before. A good day overall.
