I have no experience with this product but in terms of availability,
Russ at the Seattle Audubon Nature Shop first ordered National
Geographic Handheld Birds in January and it is now scheduled to be here
September 1st. Both the software (for Palms) and complete units will be
available for interested tweets to look at.
