This bird looks similar to a crow I saw at the Coast Guard pier in Port
Townsend on July 22nd. The bird was attempting to pick something up with
its bill, but was unable to obtain a grip. I thought at the time that it
might be related to the syndrome.

Subject: [Tweeters] crow with deformed bill at Edmonds waterfront.

Hi All,

I took a walk on the Edmonds waterfront on Tuesday and noticed a crow with a
deformed bill hanging out by Anthony's Beach Cafe. His maxilla was badly
overgrown, and it made me wonder if his problem was at all related to the
long-bill syndrome that Bud Andersen has been studying in raptors. I posted
2 photos of the crow here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/96123763 at N00/

The crow photos are just below the 4 sandpiper photos that you will see when
the page comes up. Please feel free to double-check my sandpiper ID's on
the way to the crow photos as shorebirds are not my strongpoint!
