On a great suggestion from Denny Granstrand, we have created a new bird
email group for the Lower Columbia Basin. It is called LCBirds and can be
accessed at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LCBirds

It is hoped that this will be much like BirdYak and serve to discuss birds
in the Lower Columbia Basin area. If you visit the area, feel free to post
your sightings.

To join LCBirds, go to the web page and click on Join This Group. Joining
the group means you will get emails from members who send messages to
LCBirds at yahoo.com . You can view the recent messages without joining the
group on the web page. If you do not have a Yahoo ID, you will have to
create one in order to join the group.

Whether or not the Lower Columbia Basin Alert continues is up to Lower
Columbia Basin Audubon. We would guess that deciding that will depend on
usage/messages left at 627-BIRD or financial support. It currently costs
about $24 per month - money that is well spent IF the service is being used.
Of course, donations are always accepted.
