Hi,
Well now I have discovered a young female Cooper's who is making a fuss, and doesn't seem to have the skills to hunt successfully. She has been sitting in my yard, right next to the bird feeders, crying, or so it seems. All the young birds are there for the picking, but I just don't think she knows what to do.
When do the adults stop feeding the young, when it comes to Cooper's Hawks???
I am kind of worried about her.

On the other hand, an Anna's turned up today, and has fed several times. Last winter was the first time, I had successfully had Anna's in the winter months. First August to have them as well.
