Hi,
Coming from the midwest,(Kansas) we ate bullfrog legs as kids, always at my Grandpa's and out at the two farms my Aunt's had. They tasted like chicken although a bit tough. (maybe it was the rabbit that tasted like chicken, don't remember, I just remember when I found out I was eating a bunny, I got sick)
However it is NOT kosher meat, which didn't matter at the time......I was told they are not native, so can't we just start catching them and selling them to non-kosher deli's?
I can't think of a better way to take care of this problem. My neighbor has one now in her big pond, and I can't seem to get her to get rid of it. Not that I know how to catch them myself. My cousins could probably tell me how they did it, since they still live in the same county. (and no one ever ate opossum, but they did eat a few squirrels, not me though!)
:-)
