Hello All,
Yesterday evening and this morning we sighted a lone swift flying up and
down Coppei Creek Rd.in eastern Walla Walla Co.. This bird was entirely
sooty black from the vent to the throat and the rump to the crown. It
however was not the size of a Black Swift. This birds aberrant plumage
really had me going. Has anyone else ever seen a black plumaged Vaux's
Swift?

We also located the following species of note.

Western Tanager...........14 birds
Wilsons Warbler............1 ad. very early migrant for this county.
Townsends Warbler........1 ad. female......early for area.

Brewers Sparrow ( Timberline ?)..1 adult. This is the first Brewers we have
ever seen on Coppei Creek in 25 years of birding here.

Willow Flycatchers...........7 birds
Gray Catbirds..................9 birds
Bullocks Oriole................2
Veery...............................1 calling
plus all the expected species.
Later Mike
