Tweets,
did a leisurely weekend birding out to Ocean Shores,
and stopped at Nisqually on the way home sunday.
Rather slow at Ocean shores, Lots of Pelicans and
Heerman's gulls, a few shore birds.

Most notable was a single Cackling Goose (Aleutian)
seen at the Hoquim sewage ponds on Friday afternoon.
Seems really early to see one down this far south! It
was in the company of about 8 Canada Geese.

On the way home tonight (sunday) we stopped at
Nisqually NWR. Slow again, but some shorebirds out
towards the photo blind off the McAllister Creek.
Lots of Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, one Long-billed
Dowitcher, many Least Sandpipers, and one Semipalmated
Sandpiper. Lots of GBH!!!

Highlight was a single adult Snowy Egret, just east of
the trail and south of the photo blind. Great looks
with great lighting!

Good Birding!
Guy
