Although a trip east from here up the Mt Loop Hwy failed to get me up into
any decent subalpine habitat, at the Barlow Pass dead-end I heard a single
flyover WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL this last Sunday (August 6). I was pretty
surprised, given the time of year and relatively low elevation (2361')
there. Down here at Tiny's Land in n. Lake Stevens, we are getting a few
Red Crossbills also.
