There's a record in the Washington Fish and Wildlife/WA DNR Herp Atlas
database, from August 31, 1994, that indicates that a Pacific Giant
Salamander was in the:

BLUE RIDGE COMMUNITY SWIMMING POOL IN NW SEATTLE.

A little odd, I think. But, I believe I remember a bit of the story behind
it and it really did happen. The source of this record was Gene Hunn and
that alone gives credibility to a very odd record. I seem to remember
something about Gene's daughter being the lifeguard at the pool at the time
or something like that.

Scott Atkinson and I have been exchanging emails about Pacific Giant
Salamanders in the Lake Forest Park area. There are a few records of the
species from that area over the past 25-30 years or so. That makes this area
stand out a bit because there are very few places in the Puget lowlands
where Pacific Giant Salamanders have been found.
