Hi Tweets,

Yesterday Central Basin Audubon held their annual Grant County Shorebird
Field Trip. Locations visited included Soap Lake East Beach, Soap Lake West
Beach, Soap Lake North Beach, Lake Lenore, Birder's Corner, Perch Point, and
Lind Coulee. Eight individuals attended and several nice shorebirds were
located along with the normal suspects. The following shorebirds, and their
locations, were observed during the trip (numbers are included only if
significant).

Killdeer - (all locations and numerous)
SEMIPALMATED PLOVER - (SLEB, PP)
American Avocet - (SLEB, SLWB, SLNB)
Black-necked Stilt - (SLWB, BC)
Greater Yellowlegs - (BC, LC)
Lesser Yellowlegs - (SLEB, SLWB, BC, LL, LC)
Spotted Sandpiper - (SLEB, SLWB, BC, PP)
Solitary Sandpiper - (LL)
Western Sandpiper - (all locations numbers increasing)
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER - (SLEB, SLWB, PP)
Least Sandpiper - (all locations)
Baird's Sandpiper - (SLEB, SLWB, SLNB, LL, PP)
STILT SANDPIPER - (SLWB)
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER - (SLEB)
Long-billed Dowitcher - (LC, BC, PP)
Wilson's Snipe - (BC)
Red-necked Phalarope - (SLNB 2000+ the largest inland concentration I've
ever seen)

Seventeen species of shorebird species were observed. A good day inland.

We also noted a nice influx of migrants at Potholes State Park where we
stopped for a break during a very warm day and several other species of note
during the day. The following were observed.

Gray Catbird - (PSP)
Pacific-slope Flycatcher - (PSP)
Hammond's Flycatcher - (PSP)
Lark Sparrow - (LL)
Herring Gull - 2 adults (PP)
FRANKLIN'S GULL - 1 immature (LC)

Cheers
