Thanks all for the help with the Green Black-cap Warbler which indeed turned out to be Wilson's Warbler.

I have a new puzzler: What is Suckley's Gull? It's size description is Length 17.5", alar extent 43.25, wing 13.75". More description can be found at http://www.hti.umich.edu/cgi/t/text/pageviewer-idx?c=genpub;cc=genpub;rgn=full%20text;idno=afk4383.0009.001;didno=afk4383.0009.001;view=image;seq=904;page=root;size=s;frm=frameset;

It's listed right after California Gull and Ring-billed Gull. 2 specimens are listed as taken by Suckley and one each by Cooper and Kennerly. I'm guessing some form of these two or Mew Gull.
