I had no intention of birding today, really, you know how that goes. On my
way to other errands I saw that there was a bit of mud at the Yakima Delta.
A few Greater Yellowlegs and Least Sandpipers were scattered among the
Killdeer. On the farthest mud bar there were 50 or so peeps.

So, knowing that the end of August has traditionally been good for vagrant
warblers, I went to Bateman Island. Despite the wind, I found a few Yellow
and Townsend's Warblers. Out of the willows, came a female/immature
American Redstart.

The only other migrants I found were one Warbling Vireo and one Western
Tanager. Also of note was the apparent absence of kingbirds. There are
probably a few around but not the same as in the past few weeks.
