Hi all,

Not sure how unusual it is to still have Cedar Waxwings on a nest in late August, but just found a nest with two small chicks visible (and one adult standing unmoving on the nest, even though we were about 3' away) about eye height in a patch of Himalayan blackberries off South Bay Road in Olympia. Will delay clearing additional broom and blackberries for a few more weeks.

Yesterday (August 26) morning also had a nice view of a Black-throated Gray Warbler at Nisqually.
