A recent report from the Table Mountain area near Mount Baker stated they
were "tripping over ptarmigan" on the trail near Artist Point, as I recall. Eight
birds were reportedly observed, as well as a few Baird's Sandpipers searching
for insects on the lingering snow packs.
Digiscoped photos were super, especially the one of the sandpiper on the snow!
