It is confirmed. The Kittiwakes were once again Lilliwaup Bay. Sunday evening Aug. 27th at 7:30PM (one week after my first sighting). There were 11 of them, very busy eating tiny fish and talking to each other.
I have received one email that their visit may be a first for Mason County. Does anyone know why they might be so far inland? My guess is the ever changing climate and diminishing food sources. Much like the lone Brown Pelican who fished the canal near Hoodsport in June.
Any other ideas?
