Yesterday afternoon (8/29/06) there was a juvenile FRANKLIN'S GULL with a large flock of BONAPARTE'S GULLS on the south beach of Discovery Park. There were also MEW GULLS, CALIFORNIA GULLS, and a few CASPIAN and COMMON TERNS.

Not much on the water. A RHINOCEROS AUKLET and a pair of HORNED GREBES.

By late afternoon, the bonaparte's and terns were heading out, flying in a northerly direction. Looked for, but did not see any jaegers.

It was a good day.
