The resident Anna?s Hummingbirds have been hawking insects over our
backyard Koi pond.?Hatches of small Dipterans, in swirling clouds, fly
over or near the ponds.?The Hummers hover in tight circles through the
insects with their mandibles wide open to eat them.??It is quite a
sight especially with the backlight of a late afternoon sun.
